Pambe Creative is a social enterprise established in 2009. The word “Pambe” was coined by the two founders from the Swahili language and it means to adorn or to beautify. Its headquaters is currently based in Nairobi, Kenya.

What we do
Pambe Creative collaborates predominantly with existing African producer groups that are well structured and have been in existence for more than one year as well as emerging designers. Our aim is to continuously incorporate indigenous African craft skills and techniques in a creative and innovative manner. We support fair and ethical terms of trade.
Through long-term engagement with African producers, we intend to contribute positively to their socio-economic wellbeing. Promote environmentally sustainable and streamlined production solutions. Assist in development of technical skills and capacity at grass root level. Encourage entrepreneurship culture in Africa especially among the youth in craft and art. Promote the preservation, appreciation and documentation of the rich African craft skills and techniques.
